How to stay safe and make events enjoyable for everyone.

Community Meetup Hub connects sellers and buyers in person. Meeting people from the internet is usually fun and rewarding, but a few simple habits make every event safer and more welcoming.

1. Meet in public places

Choose busy, well-lit public venues such as coffee shops, restaurants, hotel lobbies, or community centres. Avoid private homes, isolated locations, or meeting alone in unfamiliar places for the first time.

2. Tell someone your plans

Let a friend or family member know where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to be back. A quick text before and after the event is a good habit.

3. Keep personal details private

Your real name, phone number, and address are private by default on this site. Do not feel pressured to share them at an event. Share only what you are comfortable with.

4. Trust your instincts

If a situation or conversation makes you uncomfortable, you are allowed to leave at any time. You do not owe anyone an explanation. Your safety comes first.

5. Be respectful and inclusive

Treat everyone with respect. Harassment, discrimination, unwanted contact, or aggressive sales tactics are not welcome. Events are about community, not hard selling.

6. Watch your belongings and payments

Keep your phone, wallet, and valuables with you. If a host asks for a fee, it is handled via PayPal, not through this app. Be cautious of anyone asking for cash, direct transfers, or extra payments outside PayPal.

7. Report problems

If you see unsafe behaviour, feel harassed, or notice something suspicious, report it using the report button on the meetup or profile, or contact us at report@meetuphub.app. We take reports seriously and will follow up promptly.

8. Hosts set the tone

Hosts are responsible for choosing a safe venue, making expectations clear, and stepping in if behaviour crosses a line. Attendees should follow the host's guidance and treat the venue and staff with respect.

9. Take care of yourself

Stay hydrated, know your limits, and plan your travel home. If you are drinking alcohol, do so responsibly and make sure you have a safe way to get home.
